Summit Pet Lead Dogs repeat as softball champs!

On October 17, 2005, the Summit Pet Product Distributors company softball team repeated as champions in the Greensboro Parks and Recreation co-ed softball league.  The Summit Pet Lead Dogs won the Co-Rec Open D Division Softball Championship for the second year in a row when they beat Guilford Mills by the score of 11-4.  Greg Browne scored three times for the Lead Dogs, while Scott Carver belted a Grand Slam homerun. Team manager Charlie Browne, who added five RBIs in the game, accepted the championship plaque on behalf of the team.

The Summit Pet team swept into the championship game by easily winning their previous two playoff games.  Despite a shaky start to the season, the team rebounded to finish strong, going undefeated in the double elmination tournament.  This was the second year that Summit fielded a team and many expressed interest in returning to defend their championship next year!
