Large crowd attends Summit Pet's 2011 Open House

On Saturday, October 1st and Sunday October 2nd, 2011, Summit Pet Product Distributors held its annual two-day Open House Trade Show in Greensboro, NC.  This year’s event drew a larger than expected crowd of 248 retail stores and over 500 attendees each day.

As in the past, the show took place at Summit Pet’s 130,000 sq. ft. warehouse facility.  Over 100 manufacturers from across the country were present to display their product and answer customer questions.  For those in attendance, vendors offered deep discounts on their product lines and select manufacturers also offered cash back giveaways at their booths.

 

During the show, attendees were encouraged to browse the aisles of Summit Pet's warehouse to view our ever-increasing inventory of over 15,000 catalog items.  In addition, a fully-catered lunch was prepared each day by our highly-acclaimed local caterer Exclamations Catering.  We also offered hourly door prizes, Carvel™ ice cream, and a snack station with hot buttered popcorn.

On Saturday evening, we held our annual Appreciation Dinner in the Imperial Ballroom of the Sheraton Four Seasons Hotel.  The Appreciation Dinner was created to thank our many customers, manufacturers and employees who have been instrumental in Summit Pet's success.  After the dinner, attendees were treated to a special presentation from Ross Shafer, acclaimed motivational speaker and former standup comedian.  This was followed by casino night and interactive gaming, including micro reality racing and pop-a-shot basketball.

Summit Pet was encouraged by the strong showing this year despite the current economic conditions, and we are currently making plans for our 2012 annual Customer Appreciation Trade Show which will take place in Atlanta next spring.  Summit Pet would like to thank all those in attendance this year and we hope to see you back in 2012!
