As a Summit Pet customer, your terms and conditions will vary depending on your store location. Summit Pet delivers to many areas in the southeastern United States, which are identified by our Territory Map.    The shaded areas indicate locations where our fleet of trucks currently delivers.  If your store resides within one of these areas, please consult the terms and conditions for In-Territory Customers.   For those accounts that reside outside of the shaded regions, Summit Pet Products offers other means of delivery.  Please consult the terms and conditions for Out-of-Territory Customers for more details. 

 

IN-TERRITORY CUSTOMERS

TERMS

All orders are C.O.D. unless specific arrangements have been made in advance. A completed Customer Information Sheet and Certificate of Resale must be on record in order to receive delivery.

PLACING ORDERS

All orders on our website should be placed by 2:00 p.m. (Eastern time zone) if delivered by our Atlanta warehouse, or by 3:00 p.m. if delivered by our Greensboro warehouse on your assigned order day. If you do not know your correct order day, please ask your customer service representative. Your cooperation is necessary in keeping your order changes to a minimum.  Orders on the website may be placed by either item number or UPC number.   You can also use keywords to search for items (a link above the search box contains a list of suggested search words).

In addition to ordering on our website, orders can also be placed by calling our toll-free telephone number at (800) 648-7387, or by using our fax line at (336) 294-1237 or (800) 650-1237.  You may also e-mail your order to us at customerservice@summitpet.com if you prefer.

MINIMUM ORDER SIZE

The minimum order accepted for delivery is $300. Remote areas may have a higher minimum order due to excessive delivery costs. 

RETURNED CHECKS

There will be a $30 service charge for each check returned to us from the bank. Repeated occurrences of returned checks will result in your account being placed on a cash-only basis. Also, any discounts given (e.g., items on sale) will be charged back to you if a check is returned from the bank.

SALES ARE NOT GUARANTEED

We do not guarantee the sale of any product. We adhere to the manufacturer's written return and warranty policies unless otherwise stated.

COUPONS

We gladly accept authorized manufacturer coupons from retailers.  Retailers should follow the instructions listed directly on the manufacturer coupons because there are variations as to whether they are reimbursed by the manufacturer or Summit Pet.  If a coupon does not require a mail in from the manufacturer, we will gladly accept the coupon.  The coupons should be filled out completely by the consumer and sent in to Summit Pet Product Distributors for reimbursement.

Coupons will be processed by our accounts receivable department, and a credit will be issued to your account with your next order.  Drivers are not allowed to give credit for any coupons at time of delivery. Coupons must be turned in on a timely basis, as we cannot accept coupons past their indicated expiration date.

IAMS AND EUKANUBA CLAIMS

Any claims for broken bags, damages, or shorted product should be made at the time of delivery.  You must inspect for damage and verify receipt in good condition of all Iams and Eukanuba products.  We will not accept any damage, shortage or infestation claims after the invoice has been signed.  

Summit Pet Product Distributors, Inc. will allow you to return "out of date" Iams and Eukanuba products up to an amount equal to 3% of the previous calendar year's purchases.  All "out of date" Iams and Eukanuba returns must be in resalable condition.  Drivers are not allowed to pick up any returns without prior approval from our office.  You must notify Summit Pet to request a returned goods authorization.

Consumer returns now require you to completely fill out an Iams Consumer Return Form.  This form must then be attached to the product and you must notify Summit Pet Product Distributors to request a returned goods authorization.

OTHER PRODUCT (NON-IAMS) CLAIMS AND RETURNS

Any claims for broken items, damages, or shorted merchandise should be made at the time of delivery. We ask that you check in your order with the driver. We will allow you up to 48 hours to make any further claims for additional damages or discrepancies.  Claims must be made within this period to avoid a 25% restocking fee. Credits will not be issued for store breakage, priced or non-defective merchandise. Drivers are not allowed to pick up any merchandise without prior approval from our office. All tanks must be inspected at the time of delivery prior to the signing of an attached tank damage release form in order to receive credit.

For all non-Iams dog and cat foods, please contact the manufacturer’s representative for their out-of-date policies.  As with Iams foods, you must inspect all non-Iams dog and cat foods and verify receipt in good condition at the time of delivery.

UNITED PARCEL SERVICE (UPS) DELIVERY

We are able to ship most items to you via United Parcel Service. The minimum order accepted for UPS delivery is $150.  We will not ship any large items or items prone to breakage. Oversized or overweight items may be subject to additional freight charges. We do not guarantee the condition of merchandise shipped by UPS. All damage claims for UPS orders should be submitted directly to UPS. 

SPECIAL ORDERS

Special orders may be placed with us for certain items that we do not carry but only for customers with prior sales history.  Special orders must be prepaid and may be subject to minimum order and handling charges required by the vendor.  Delivery must be within two weeks after Summit Pet Product Distributors has received the product.  If a special order is cancelled, the customer will be notified that they will no longer be permitted to place special orders in the future.

OUT-OF-TERRITORY CUSTOMERS

WHERE WE SHIP

We will ship to all areas within the continental United States (excluding Alaska and Hawaii).  Currently, we do no ship product outside of the United States.

TERMS

All out-of-territory orders must be paid via credit card.  A completed Customer Information Sheet and Certificate of Resale must also be submitted in order to receive delivery.  We currently accept Visa and MasterCard.

PLACING ORDERS

Orders may be placed on our website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Our normal business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

MINIMUM ORDER SIZE

The minimum order accepted for delivery outside of our territory is $150.  All orders are subject to a handling charge.  We will pay the delivery charges on all orders that exceed $500.

RETURNS

We make every effort to ensure accuracy in all of our orders.  However, in the unlikely event that we make an error, please observe the following guidelines:

If you have received the wrong item or quantity

Ship your item(s) back to Summit Pet.  If we confirm that it is our mistake, we will credit you for the incorrect product as well as your freight cost to ship the item(s) back to us.

If you have received a defective product

Ship your item(s) back to Summit Pet.  If we confirm that the item is defective, we will credit you your freight cost to ship the item(s) back to us and we will ship you a replacement product with the freight charge waived.

Please note that items returned to us that were not a result of our mistake are subject to a 25% restocking fee.  Items must be returned items to us in an unused and resalable condition.

DELIVERY SCHEDULE

Most online orders are shipped out the next business day.  To determine how long (on average) it will take for your order to arrive, please consult our UPS Delivery Map.
